5-2-11 lots of news in the world of stillborn. first up, we have officially begun work on our next CD, tetatively titled "conowingo dead zone". initial tracking began last saturday april 23rd. so far the songs sound great. look for a new CD in late 2011/early 2012. more shows are being added every day now, including a show with CALABRESE at the sidebar tavern in baltimore and a show with the snallygasters in alexandria, VA. check out the shows page for more info. Stillborn will be opening for John_Christ (former guitarist of Danzig) on Black Friday 11/27th at Sinix 525 Eastern Blvd Essex MD 21221 $5 All Ages 8-15-09 friday september 4th at the red rooster. don't miss this show!! 7-8-09 2 new shows added to the LIVE page. also, the cd is so close to being completed. we had our good friends come in to help us with the backing vocals on this cd and it sounds great. we had members of Misdirected, Younger Years, The Marksman, Devil's Radio, Trigger 13, The Snallygasters, Professional Victim, Goodbye Skyline & Better Side of K-OS all helping out on this one. all that is left to do is mix this thing down and press up some copies. so come out to a few shows get a preview of the new tunes and give us some feedback. 5-26-09 new shows added to the LIVE page. more shows are brewing and will be added as info is available. ohh yeah, and we also recorded a CD. look for that release at our shows later this summer. 4-23-09 thanks to everyone who came out on friday night to witness the return of stillborn. we had a great time and are looking forward to many more shows in the future. big thanks to the red rooster, for letting us do this thing the 3rd friday of every month and to clay who jumped behind the drums and played an excellent first show with stillborn. alright...now don't forget next show is coming up quick. monday may 18th at the ottobar, stillborn along with discourse and the shortage will be playing with WHOLE WHEAT BREAD. this show is going to be killer and it's an ALL AGES show. doors open at 7pm. show at 8pm. tickets are $8 in advance $10 at the door. 4-14-2009 NEW SHOWS!!! stillborn will be making it back onto the stage this friday april 17th at the red rooster club 6412 frankford ave. baltimore, md 21206 doors open at 7pm and STILLBORN kicks it all off at 8pm. the show also features: devil's radio, paperback tragedy, professional victim, pain! & the martians also coming up on may 18th, stillborn along with discourse and the shortage will be playing at the ottobar with WHOLE WHEAT BREAD. this show is going to be killer and it's an ALL AGES show. 2-9-09 BREAKING NEWS!!! so stillborn has been quietly pulling itself back together. in this economic downturn, we've experienced a musical upturn. there have been more than a few things keeping us from moving forward, some good & some bad. since we've been gone, davey bones has welcomed his first child, madelyn. bill doe has moved to pennsylvania and has virtually disappeared. dave e worthless has started up a new band, the snalleygasters and is playing bass with them. drew bastard is also playing guitar in professional victim in addition to his guitar duties in stillborn. and the BIG NEWS... we welcome clay holland, longtime friend, formerly of paperback tragedy and current member of creepy murtle onto drums. clay has been a wonderful addition, not to take anything away from the drummers we have had in the past, but clay really gets what we are doing and is very enthusiastic to be a part of it. songs are being written at break-neck speeds and what we are pulling together has never sounded so good. almost a year after the idea of playing together again was pondered, we actually put the plans into motion. following a couple failed attempts to rehearse in the spring of 2008, this december, we met and discussed a musical partnership with clay. we all owe a debt of thanks to kevin from professional victim, for pulling everyones head together this past november. clay was onboard from the beginning and thus began the process of resurrecting the last few song-gems stillborn wrote as it was falling apart in 2005. originally we felt we should rehearse the songs and get them to a point of recording and see where things go from there. out of these last few sessions stillborn has been writing songs that we feel could be amongst our personal best. so where are we going from here? who knows, but we definitely want to keep the momentum going and keep you guys informed. shows? sure. recordings? definitely. in addition to the newfound life stillborn is having, brian & drew have struck a working relationship with kevin clark & steve smith (both of professional victim) under the name of SNOT MERCHANT RECORDS. we currently are booking FREE shows at the Red Rooster Club every 3rd friday of the month, as well as the booking, we handle the live sound and promotions. generous thanks to the Red Rooster and to kevin's brother mike (of the re-animators) for all their help. we hope to make SMR an all encompassing venture. steve smith who provides live sound for these shows also has built a full-on recording studio providing us the essential platform we needed to get things moving. look for more on this partnership as things progress. and if nothing else, help us build a scene here in baltimore. as of this writing we have had two excellent shows, featurning the bands: admiral browning, devil's radio, idleminds, professional victim, the snalleygasters, marksman, moses & paperback tragedy. we look forward to many more great shows. in the coming months SMR is working on more great shows as well as releases from both professional victim, stillborn and a compilation cd featuring songs by most of the bands featured on these shows. so keep checking this page often and the shows page as well. we plan on putting stillborn back onto a stage real soon. 11-12-07 UPDATE we're gonna do something. we don't know what, we don't know when, but it's coming. whatever it is. ...or maybe we won't do anything. who knows? STILLBORN makes their triumphant return to the stage this wednesday june 22nd at the full moon saloon in fells point. the line-up is STILLBORN, the Revelevens Danny Kay and the Deadneks (psychobilly from Winchester). show starts at 10pm. it's been a while since we've played a show. we've got a bunch of new tunes for everyone to check out, as well as our new drummer bill doe and the addition of davey bones now playing guitar and tackling the vocal duties. so come on out for some cheap drinks and some great rock n roll. more info, directions, etc can be found at www.fullmoon-saloon.com 6-15-05 added a ton of mp3's & video's to the music page. keep in mind that the audio quality of the videos isn't spectacular. we play loud music & the audio that the camera catches is what we get. but i think they are quite enjoyable to watch never-the-less. all 4 of those videos were filmed by kate hamilton, as well as most of the pic's you see on this site. also added all 4 of the band members email addresses to the contact page. feel free to drop us a line anytime. keep checking back often, it seems the next show may be closer than we think. i'll post the show info as soon as it becomes official. 6-14-05 well folks, i know it has been a while since the site's been updated, but it looks like the updates will be coming regularly from now on. expect all kinds of goodies to start popping up in the next few days. i started by adding some different pic's to the photos page and i will have a bunch of mp3's up soon. in addition, it looks like stillborn will be venturing out of the garage and gigging very soon. 4-10-05 stillborn is still hard at work rehearsing the new material and breaking in bill doe on drums and davey bones on the guitar. more updates will be coming much more frequently, as we are getting closer to lining up some shows. as of right now, new songs that you will be able to hear us playing live in the coming months will be: dr. phibes, the walking dead, dead by dawn & white crown vic. as you might have guessed, stillborn was not selected to be a part of the HFS big break contest. gold mind squad was selected as the winner and we wish them all the best. look forward to more pic's on the photos page and some mp3's coming in the next few days, as well as many more updates and news we begin hatching our plans for the summer of 2005. 3-16-05 stillborn is proud to announce our very own bill doe will be making his solo debut, this weekend (march 19-20), as the "easter bunny". bill will be at the overlea/parkville kmart located on bel air rd. don't miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to sit on his lap and have your photo taken with the mighty bill doe. stillborn in no way endorses kmart, the easter bunny or bill doe for that matter. 3-6-05 after coming off a hectic year, one in which stillborn spent mostly in the studio, it was time for a much needed and well deserved break. stillborn took the year out on a high note, opening up a show for Dr. CHUD's X-Ward (featuring Dr. CHUD formerly of the Misfits) at the Vault. during this break stillborn re-tooled a few things. the first major change was the change of drummers. stillborn was forced to part ways with drummer greg kott in favor of former drummer bill doe. we all wish greg the best and hope he finds the right band to best suit his needs. secondly, dave schultheis, the vocalist extroidinairre decided to pick up a guitar and add to the already destructive sound of stillborn. bringing extra rhythm over blistering solos and adding some blistering solos over some chunky rhythms. while they were at it stillborn started working on some new songs. so far they're up to 6 new tunes and counting. check this page and the live page often, the guys are just about ready to take things back out to the streets.
